人工知能学会 汎用人工知能研究会(SIG-AGI) 創設記念シンポジウムのご案内

近年，欧米を中心として汎用人工知能(AGI: Artificial General
Intelligence)についての研究活動が盛り上がりつつあります．汎用人工
知能は，人間のように十分に広範な適用範囲と強力な汎化能力を持つ人工
知能の開発を目指す研究領域です．従来は困難と見られていましたが，最
近の深層学習技術の進展などを契機として，今後のイノベーションが期待
される投資価値の高い研究領域です．

このような状況を踏まえ，国内でも汎用人工知能の研究活動を支える母体
として，人工知能学会 汎用人工知能研究会を立ち上げました．その創設
を記念して，AGI Society会長のBen Goertzel氏を招いて，シンポジウム
を開きます．世界のAGI研究を牽引するBen Goertzel氏からの基調講演や，
汎用人工知能研究の現状紹介等を行います．汎用人工知能の研究に興味の
ある方は，是非，ご参加下さい．

Title: The Value of Embodiment for Artificial General Intelligence

Abstract:
The core properties of Artificial General Intelligence, as opposed to
task or domain specific Narrow AI, will be briefly reviewed. Then,
the question of the importance of a rich and capable embodiment for
AGI will be discussed, including consideration of the advantages and
disadvantages of virtual-world versus robotic embodiment. The
practical challenges of interfacing proto-AGI systems with robots will
be discussed, and an architecture for surmounting some of these
challenges will be presented. Examples of the value of rich
perception and action for guiding abstract cognition will be
discussed.
